Judged?
James 2:12 So speak and so act as those who are to be judged by the law of liberty. 13 For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment.
Having “little G” god like knowledge of good and evil we become full of ourselves, thinking we have the solution to every problem. YHWH gave us the Law in order to reduce the damage that can be caused by a bunch of gods arguing over who is the most God like god of the “little g” gods but without omniscience, we don’t fully know how to apply The Law beyond the facts of actions and consequences.
Based upon facts and consequences, we’re all toast. Thanks be to God for His mercy! As we learn mercy, we’re learning the mind of God. I can imagine conversations with Him about instances where we struggled with the proper way to show mercy. (I don’t know if those conversations will really happen but conversation is an important part of relationship so. . . )
We will never be 100% accurate in applying mercy because we’re not omniscient to know what contributed to an infraction. Thank God for being merciful when He judges how we administer mercy!
Father, thank You for being merciful! Help us to learn Your mind so that we, too, can be merciful.
