Crucify Him. Again?

Crucify Him. Again?

James 4:1 What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is not the source your pleasures that wage war in your members? 2 You lust and do not have; so you commit murder. You are envious and cannot obtain; so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask. 3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.

Vs. 2 You lust and do not have; so you commit murder.

Tell me whether or not I’m off track if I apply the following scripture to the above sentence:

Hebrews 6:4 For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, 5 and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, 6 and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame.

Are James and the Hebrew writer speaking of the same thing? Does a believer turn Jesus’ sacrifice into mere murder when, after walking in faith, returns to his lust for physical satisfaction rather than seeking to honor Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross?

Jesus, my God and Savior, please forgive me when I elevate worldly satisfaction above reconciliation and fellowship with You! I am weak, You are strong. Help me to recognize when I’m nailing You on the cross AGAIN!
